Who Wears the Pants: Ladies, Labor, and Fashion with Black Citizens Brigade In-Person
In this workshop, Cjala Surratt will utilize a curated selection of images and vintage garments sourced from the clothing store, the Black Citizens Brigade. By examining attire throughout history, participants will gain insight into how clothing choices have been used to challenge and reshape traditional gender roles.
The intersections between fashion, gender dynamics will be explored, and the pivotal role of Black female designers in shaping the industry, and creating iconic silhouettes will be spotlighted.
