Are you struggling to make sense of old census records, letters, or journals in your research? Start the new year with the first OCPL Genealogy Group session of 202521 Strategies for Deciphering Old Handwriting with special guest speaker Carla S. Cegielski.

Carla is a full-time genealogical researcher, lecturer, and writer specializing in Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia research. Among her many accomplishments, she authored the National Genealogical Society’s Reading Old Handwriting course and created and coordinated the 2021 Reading, Transcribing, and Abstracting Old Documents course at the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP).
