Art Exhibit @ Soule: “Anticipating Spring"

Art Exhibit @ Soule: “Anticipating Spring" In-Person

While Central New York is in the thrall of heavy snowfall and cold spells, a common longing for warmer temperatures and bright spring colors develops. Comprised of watercolor and acrylic paintings, this show contains spring images that cater to this feeling. They will be up through the month of April on the main floor of the library.

About the artist: Ute Oestreicher, long time resident of Syracuse NY, has been interested in art since her early childhood. Her love for strong color statements originates in her extensive exposure to the German Expressionists and the French Impressionists in her youth. She took art courses at the universities in Berlin, Germany and Syracuse, NY and has participated in numerous workshops by well-known artists. She organized and managed a 20+ artists co-op art gallery in East Syracuse from 1989-1994. She was a member of the Camillus Art Guild and has been a member of Associated Artists and Bradford Art Group. She won numerous awards in local and regional shows. She enjoys participating in the Cazenovia plein air group and the DeWitt Parks and Recreation gathering to paint.
