English for New Learners @ Soule

English for New Learners @ Soule In-Person

Every Tuesday from 12pm to 2pm, RISE provides free English language classes at Soule Branch Library to refugees and immigrants living in Syracuse and the surrounding areas. Designed specifically for non-native adult learners, the curriculum combines essential grammar instruction with practical exercises, emphasizing spoken and situational English for everyday use. Courses are tailored to meet each student's proficiency level and learning goals. RISE offers special classes at the Beginner, Pre-Intermediate, and Intermediate levels. All textbooks and study materials are provided at no cost. The instructors offer individualized support and closely monitor each student’s progress to ensure meaningful learning outcomes. The goal of RISE's English program is to help adult immigrants and refugees integrate smoothly into their new environment by equipping them with the language skills necessary to understand, communicate, and thrive with confidence.

For adults ages 18 and up. These classes are available in-person, but RISE provides several other classes both in-person and online via Zoom. Attached is a registration form that students are required to fill out and bring with them to their first class.
