10 Tips for Adults: Choose MyPlate @ Soule In-Person

During this 4-week workshop series, you will learn about the USDA’s “MyPlate”: an updated version of the old Food Guide Pyramid. These no-cost classes focus on understanding the food groups and how to follow a healthy eating pattern. They are evidence-based and include discussion, some physical activity, and a recipe demonstration. Each class in the series is held at 1:30pm – 2:30pm on the following dates:   

  • 5/15/2026: Introduction to MyPlate 

  • 5/21/2026: Make Half Your Plate Fruits and Vegetables 

  • 5/22/2026: Make Half Your Grains Whole Grains 

  • 6/4/2026: Vary Your Protein Routine

The information taught in these workshops is focused on adults age 60+, but all adults age 18+ are eligible to attend. Presented by SNAP-Ed New York, in partnership with Onondaga County Dept. Of Adult and Long-Term Care Services. These workshops were funded by the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). SNAP provides nutrition assistance to people with low income.
